Sixteen Episodes
Sixteen Episodes is an experimental digital project that explores the intersection of abstraction, calligraphy, and subconscious image-making. Building on ideas developed in my earlier work Formless Sublime, this series draws inspiration from pictorial traditions and the structural elegance of Eastern calligraphy. Influenced by Stanley Cavell’s notion of the ‘automatic’, the work seeks a return to the calligraphic sublime through abstract forms. Each of the sixteen still images represents a distinct psychic state or inner landscape, articulated through visual languages such as chaos, clarity, sediment, and breath. These biomorphic forms hover between two- and three-dimensionality, evoking a surreal, dreamlike space. The series embraces ambiguity, simplicity, and transformation — creating a contemplative visual journey that resonates both emotionally and psychologically.
All works in this series are created without the use of AI generation.
